"It is not about what you're selling but how you feel about what you're selling." This single statement is the core being of Afrocardz. Nthabiseng Sibiya, founder of Afrocardz says she heard this statement on a radio show. “It has stayed with me and rings true every time I hear it”, she says. “I’m passionate about designing custom made invitation cards and related products for our clients.”

Afrocardz offers the client products that uniquely define who they are. We design custom made stationery for all occasions. The invitations, menus, thank you cards, order of service booklets and other accessories are designed to the client’s specifications and requirements. Afrocardz does not focus on what it considers quick and easy to make, but rather on what the client wants. We do not have a one size fits all approach. Every client is treated as a unique individual with specific needs and wants.

How did Afrocardz come to its being as a designer stationer?

Nthabiseng says she was responding to a need in the market for custom made stationery, especially for African traditional weddings. The traditional wedding has its own theme and different stationery requirements. A bride might require a separate invitation for her traditional wedding and for her civil wedding, “white wedding” as it is commonly known.

“These unique requirements create a gap for a service provider who would not treat all brides as a homogenous market segment but as individuals with different needs,” she adds.

Nthabiseng has always aspired to work in a creative and stimulating environment. “I always try to create invitations that are “for keeps”. For example, an invitation that can serve as a gift as well.

Afrocardz was born in 2002 and has continued to grow as a service provider of custom made stationery, especially in the wedding industry.

What makes Afrocardz unique?

Afrocardz follows an afro-centric, holistic and consumer-orientated approach. The client is at the core of our existence and what we do. We encourage our clients to have an input in the designing process of their dream invitation cards and associated stationery. The goal is to design stationery that captures the style and resembles the theme of the client’s special event. Every client is different and Afrocardz caters for the needs and wants of the unique individual. It is how we respond to our client’s needs that makes us unique. We respond to the client’s needs and not to what we can ordinarily make!
